Elizabeth Helen Renckens and Michael Kevin Gibbons were united in marriage on May 27 at St. Mary's Church in Cooperstown with family friends the Rev. John R. Roos officiating and Henry Phillips assisting.
The bride wore a diamond-white gown with ivory and pewter accents. The strapless, dropped-waist, full A-line gown had a soft sweetheart neckline. Lace accented the bustline and billowing bustles swept across the taffeta skirt and chapel train. She wore heirloom family pearls and carried a single lily accented with lilies of the valley.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Polly Renckens of Richfield Springs. The groom is the son of Bette and the late Dr. Brian Gibbons of Merritt Island. The bride was given away by her father.
The bridesmaids wore cobalt-blue floor length halter-top gowns and the groomsmen wore fully accessorized All Ireland Blue tartan kilts.
The matron of honor was Katy Lynch Gifford. Bridesmaids were Shannon Renckens, sister of the bride; and friends Katherine Basile, Sally Tedesco, Megan Allie, Susan Walke.
Best men were Jeffrey Newberger and Christopher Green. Groomsmen were Brian, Dan and Matthew Gibbons, brother of the groom, and Patrick Renckens, brother of the bride.
The wedding was attended by families and friends, including Michael's son Jonah Leemis, who traveled from across the nation.
The couple arrived at the Otesaga for their reception aboard Veronica Seaver's 1929 Chris Craft where the groom's mother presented the bride with a tartan sash, also worn by the other ladies of the Gibbons family.
The couple honeymooned in New England and live in Ann Arbor, Mich.
