Erica Collier and Rudy Callejas Zamora are engaged to marry this summer in Guatemala.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steven and Evelyn Collier of Cooperstown.
She is a graduate of Cooperstown Central School. She received bachelor's degrees in elementary and inclusive education and Spanish from Syracuse University, and a master's degree in Spanish language, literature and culture from Middlebury College. She has taught in Charlottesville, Va., and Cooperstown. She currently teaches Spanish in Menands.
The groom-to-be is the son of Luis Callejas Guamuch and Martina Zamora Mateo of San Lucas de Sacatepequez, Guatemala.
He was a marathon runner for Escuela Oficial Urbana Mixta Principal. He is self-employed as a mason and landscaper.
The bride-to-be lives in Albany, and the groom-to-be lives in San Lucas de Sacatepequez, Guatemala.
