Question of the week: With the county fair season here, what is your favorite ride or part of the fair?
“I’m gonna have to say the
demolition derby. I think it
should be a sport. Let out
some aggression, crash a car
and it’s legal. It’s not that expensive.
Just spend $250 on
a car, fix it up to look nice
and then crash it.”
— Keith Kirby, Newburgh
“I’d have to say that thing
that goes round and round
and up and down. Kind
of like a spider that spins
around really fast.”
— Liam Fish, student,
Washington, D.C.
“I enjoy looking at the animals.
I grew up in Wisconsin,
so the sheep and cows makes
me remember home.”
— Ed Fish, CEO of epals.
com, a children’s learning
software company, Washington,
D.C.
“Now that I’m older, I’ve
kind of lost interest in the
fair. It’s also kind of expensive,
especially right now.
We used to do the rides and
look at the different stations
though.”
— Alana Shaw, housewife,
Davenport Center
“I used to ride the Gravitron
till I puked. I liked it
because you would get stuck
to the wall when the floor
dropped. I think that’s what
I liked the best.”
— Alexis Provenzano,
sales associate, Worcester
“It’s been so long since
I’ve been on a ride at the
fair, but I’d say that I liked
the Merry Mixer. I like going
around on the rides, but
not the up and down.”
— Donna Smith, Banking,
Virginia
