WORCESTER _ Dan and Tom Twomey, twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Twomey, are gradually nearing their home town _ but it's been a long trip.
The Worcester youths were among a party of six American adventurers who for more than a year have been touring Latin America in an Army surplus amphibious vehicle.
The youths returned to this country earlier this month after their 12-month journey and have become celebrities. They have not been able to get back to Worcester as the young men and their rugged craft, "The Valiant Duck," have been much sought after to make speeches and personal appearances.
Mr. Twomey, father of the twins, said he hopes the boys will arrive home somewhere around the 23rd of this month. Twomey is area director of Eastern Milk Producers Cooperative.
"We're getting anxious to see them," said Mr. Twomey last night. "We have heard from them via telephone since they reached the States but that's not like a personal meeting.
"And mother is anxious to see her boys again _ it's been a long time."
