COMMENTING ON STORIES:

Coinciding with our websites redesign, we launched our new story comments feature through Disqus.

For the time being, our story comments feature will continue to have the ability to post comments anonymously. We reserve the right to require registration in the future using your name and verified email address.

Not all comments are deemed printable. Some are disqualified at the newspaper’s discretion for a number of different reasons. Please follow our Online Rules of Conduct at all times.

RULES OF CONDUCT:

We reserve the right to remove comments that are unacceptable, to wit:

1. False and inacurate statements.
2. Personal attacks. Explicit name-calling.
3. Harassing, harmful, vulgar, obscene and defamatory language.
4. Threatening statements or statements that suggest violence.
5. Hate speech of any kind.
6. Intolerant comments on religion, race, age, gender, sexual preference or disabilities.
7. Accusations of criminal activity.
8. Content that is harmful to children and minors in any way.
9. References to any type of sexual activity and other private matters.
10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

WE ENCOURAGE REASONABLE AND COURTEOUS COMMENTS THAT:

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.
4. Stay within the boundaries of these rules.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND OR TERMINATE ACCESS FOR:

1. Violating any of these Online Rules of Conduct.
2. Deliberately disrupting discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or spam.
3. Misrepresentation of identity or impersonating another user.

We monitor comments regularly Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Approval of comments outside of this time (including weekends) will be sporadic.

Lee M. Lawrence, 22, Edmeston, Dec. 15, second-degree harassment.

John G. Stucin, 66, Fly Creek, Dec. 16, second-degree criminal contempt.

Ryan C. Barnhart, 28, Cherry Valley, Dec. 14, second-degree criminal imprisonment, aggravated harassment.

Jeremy W. Kelly, 30, Sharon Springs, Dec. 23, second-degree burglary of a dwelling and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and second-degree menacing with a weapon.

Samantha L. Brigham, 24, Jordanville, Dec. 24, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent. Matthew F. Valentine, 18, Richfield, Dec. 24, driving while intoxicated and operating of motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent.

Patrick M. Daley, 38, Springfield, Jan. 1, aggravated driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child.

Donald W. Jennings, 40, East Branch, Dec. 24, second-degree strangulation and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and third-degree assault.

Stephen R. Casciola, 17, East Branch, second-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Sidney troopers

Timothy B. Rudnitsky, 52, Unadilla, Dec. 22, felony driving while intoxicated, refusal to take breath test, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Travis W. Neidlinger, 26, Bainbridge, Dec. 25, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent.

Shannon R. Page, 19, Harpursville, Dec. 26, disorderly conduct.

Norwich troopers

Robert M. Murray, 20, East Pharsalia, Dec. 23, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21.

James T. Slater, 40, Earlville, Jan. 1, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment.

Brandon S. Archer, 20, Greene, Dec. 31, driving while intoxicated.

Peter P. Ferrante, 25, Oxford, Jan. 12, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent.
