Story was one-sided
Contrary to what Joe Mahoney's May 30 Daily Star article reports, response by local residents to the idea of a shale-gas pipeline planned by Cabot-Williams for Delaware County has not been positive.
I attended the pipeline meeting at the Franklin Central School on May 17, where community members in attendance were overwhelmingly opposed to this pipeline. In fact, I believe that there was not one person in attendance at that meeting who was pro-pipeline. While I did not attend a similar pipeline meeting in Harpersfield that took place on the same day, people I know in the Harpersfield area told me that Harpersfield residents who were at the meeting were VERY upset at the information they took away from that meeting.
If you or another reporter from your paper would have bothered to attend either of these meetings or speak to people who did attend, you would have written a very different news story. A video of the Franklin meeting is available here:

Additionally, I have to add that it is a sad thing to see that you and the Daily Star rely on the misinformation from "a spokesman for the project" rather then speaking with people in your own community. This is a complete disservice to your readers. We expect balanced and accurate reporting from The Daily Star. In this case, you and the paper have failed to do either.

Caregiver made world a better place
The thing we remember best about those who have passed on is the good works that they did and how they shared themselves and touched and influenced our lives. Connie Salerno, a resident of Delhi, was an Angel of Mercy assisting my mother, who was losing her ability to care for herself.
Connie said that God told her to cook for my mother. Each day, for several years, Connie would prepare and serve three hot meals for my mother, refusing any financial compensation. She gave freely of her time with kindness and generosity, which helped to keep my mother living in her own home, the Delhi Senior Housing apartment, for years.
Connie's strong faith, gift of cooking and her loving heart served my mom and many other of her neighbors in need. Connie has made the world a better place and reminds us of our true purpose.
