---- — This letter is to register my displeasure with the city of Oneonta for receiving a parking ticket during this holiday season. I received a $15 parking violation on Dec. 11. I was parked in the Westcott Lot (the former Sears parking lot). I put money in the meter, even though I thought parking was free during the holidays to promote downtown shopping.
I was in Oneonta to do Christmas shopping and have lunch with a friend. I spent money for gifts on Main Street, and supported a local restaurant. You can imagine my surprise when both my friend and I had parking violations on our windshields.
Apparently, Oneonta does not really want my downtown business. I guess I will be shopping online and in bigger cities where I won’t be penalized for parking.
So much for “Oneonta, Life Enjoyed”! Merry Christmas!
