Bonnie Jean DuMond
PENNSYLVANIA — Bonnie Jean (Woodruff) DuMond, 89, of Salem Township, Pennsylvania, died Monday, Nov. 12, at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1922, in Crosswell, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Livia (Monte) Woodruff.
Mrs. DuMond had lived in Unadilla, for many years until she moved to Salem Township this past December.
She earned her B.S. degree at the University of Michigan and her Masters degree in Secondary Education from Oneonta State College.
A long time educator, Mrs. DuMond taught home economics in Unadilla, for many years and later taught at the University of Ghana.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Berwick and prior to that was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Unadilla for more than 60 years.
Mrs. DuMond was a member of the Early American Guild of Decoration, and her hobbies included playing bridge, knitting, cooking and baking.
Surviving, are her daughter, Mary Lou Grant, with whom she made her home; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Victor DuMond Sr.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Victor DuMond, who resided in Stillwater; a daughter, Sherrie Randall and by a brother, James Woodruff.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, East Sixteenth Street and Evergreen Drive, Berwick, Pa., with the Rev. Mary Kisner, officiating. Private burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery.
