Anthony B. Caruso
DELHI _ Anthony Biaggio Caruso, 83, our beloved father, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 10, 2012, with his family at his side, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
Born June 11, 1929, in Brooklyn, the son of Helmer and Jennie (Ippolito) Evenson, he served three years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, German occupation, after which he returned to Brooklyn to marry his childhood companion, Theresa Marie Capalbo, on Aug. 26, 1956.
Anthony was employed by the NYC Transit Authority for 27 years, retiring in 1979, when he moved to Delhi to be with his family, who had moved here in 1975.
Surviving are his three children, Toni A. Case and spouse, Daniel Augustus of Voorheesville, Michele Bailey of Delhi, and Anthony M. Caruso of Delhi; three grandchildren, Therese Fancher and spouse, Jared of Glenville, Angela Van Gundy-Caruso of Delhi, and Donald J. Case III of Voorheesville; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey Ernst of Delhi, Harley David Bailey of Delhi and Jared James Fancher of Glenville.
In addition to his wife, who died April 8, 2002, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, G. David Bailey, on Oct., 17, 2008.
He was deeply loved by his family who, per his wishes, will observe private services.
