Paul Richard Babbitt
ONEONTA _ Paul Richard Babbitt, 70, of Oneonta, passed away on Thursday night, May 31, 2012, at Fox Hospital in Oneonta after a year long battle with lung cancer.
Born Jan. 29, 1942, in Schenectady, the son of Beatrice and Morton Babbitt.
On Oct. 29, 1968, Paul was united in marriage to Sue Donahoo in Columbus, Ga.
He enjoyed many things in life which included golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling and in his younger years; riding dirt bikes. Of all the sports he enjoyed, his passion was watching NHL hockey. Paul liked to make people laugh, always quick with a joke to tell someone who may not of heard it.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his son, Rich Babbitt and his wife, Heather; his daughter, Kim Schmidt and her husband, Denny; five grandchildren, Bella and Abby Babbitt, Curtis, Keri and Caprice Schmidt; brother, John Babbitt and his wife, Karen and their son, Sean; brother, Bob Babbitt; and his sister, Ginger Crossman.
Paul was predeceased by his father and mother.

There will be no calling hours.
A private celebration of Paul's life will be held for family and close friends between the hours of 3:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 274 Lower Reservoir Road in Oneonta. There will also be a private burial at a later date.
