Raymond Lynn Hebert
RICHFIELD SPRINGS _ Raymond Lynn Hebert, 71, of East Main Street, passed away on Monday afternoon, May 28, 2012, in his home. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1941, in Little Falls, son to the late Raymond and Irene Block Hebert. Raymond was raised in Little Falls and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. He furthered his education earning a bachelor's degree from Utica College and receiving his master's degree from Oneonta College. At one time he was married to the former Linda Bramer.
For 35 years, Mr. Hebert taught high school chemistry. He started his career at Owen D. Young School, where he also coached basketball, then later Ilion High School and last at Richfield Springs Central Schools where he retired in 1997.
He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Richfield Springs and an Auxiliary member of the Richfield Springs Veterans Club. Ray had a strong love for the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and at one time owned a taxidermy business. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, reading, watching college basketball and most of all spending time with his children and family.
Surviving are a son, Marc and his wife, Nicole Chapman-Hebert of Frankliton, N.C.; two daughters, Christine Hebert of Liverpool and Cathleen Hebert of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, George Craig Hebert of Little Falls; a sister, Dale Oldick and her husband, Charles of Little Falls; his 1 month old granddaughter, Haylee Nicolette Hebert of Frankliton, N.C.; and many cousins.
At Mr. Hebert's request his funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
