Frances Ida Kristofik
PINDARS CORNERS — Frances Ida Kristofik passed onto eternal life Sept. 29, 2012. Fran was lovingly cared for at Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy, near her daughter.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank of 50 years, brothers and sisters, (George Smith, Kenneth Smith (Grace), Edith Whispell (Theodore), Louis Smith (Gladys); and a granddaughter, (Denise Simmons).
Fran is leaving her daughter, Trudy Simmons (Vance Sorell); grandson, Derek Simmons; sister, Beatrice Laskaris (Louis predeceased); and brother-in-law, Larry Weill (Mary Weill predeceased); and several loving nieces, nephews and very caring friends and neighbors.
Fran was born in South Kortright, the daughter of the late Edna and John Smith, and soon moved to Maryland, then Schenevus and later to Pindars Corners. Fran was a member of the Pindars Corners Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to bake and work in her garden harvesting vegetables for the winter. She worked out of the home most of her life; Jacks Restaurant, Sawyer Cleaners, Brunos Grocery, S&H Green Stamp Store and SUCO.
Calling hours will be held at Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Estes presiding. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
