Robert G. Allison

MILFORD _ Robert G. Allison, 88, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his residence.

He was born June 16, 1924, in Mount Vernon, the son of David and Elizabeth (Wilcox) Allison. He married Joan Higgins on April 14, 1951, and she predeceased him on Sept. 18, 2007.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.

Bob was a real estate appraiser for many years, and was associated with several banks in the down state area.

Bob was a member of the Oneonta American Legion Post 259.

He is survived by two sons, John Allison and his wife, Patty of Huntington Station, and Matthew Allison of Milford; six grandchildren, Joseph, Erin and her husband, Bob, Katie and her husband, Reed, Sean, Kevin, and Christopher; his great-grandchild, Allison Mae; and his daughter-in-law, Joanne Allison of Hartwick.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert in 2008.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta with the Rev. Bruce Helstrom, a Catskill Area Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at which time the family will be in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
