PITTSFIELD _ Mary Jean Nesbitt, 90, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born the daughter of Myron and Anna (Poppleton) Beach in Leonardsville. She married Marion York on Sept. 17, 1940, and he passed away April 17, 1964. Mary Jean later married Robert Nesbitt in New Berlin on Nov. 5, 1983.

She retired from Simmonds Precision in 1987, where she worked as an assembler. She was an avid bowler and was a part of the Tuesday Night Women's League. She was well-known for her homemade rolls that she loved to bake for all different occasions. She also enjoyed her poodle "Cricket."

Mary Jean is survived by her husband, Robert of Pittsfield; her children, John York and his wife, Kathy of Brantingham, Marcia Saggese of West Laurens, David York of Pittsfield; her seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband; three brothers; one sister; one daughter-in-law; and one son-in-law.

The family would like to express their thanks to staff on Unit 2 North and ICU at Fox Hospital and also to the Pittsfield Emergency Squad for the wonderful care they gave to Mary Jean.

Calling hours will be at Johnston Funeral Home in Morris from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.

A funeral service will be at the Johnston Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, with the Rev. Dr. Lyle D. Linder and the Rev. Maryann Linder officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the West Edmeston Cemetery in West Edmeston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790 or the Pittsfield Emergency Squad, 167 State Highway 80, New Berlin, NY 13411.
