Gregory Theodore Chapman
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. _ Gregory Theodore Chapman, 53, of Daytona Beach, Fla., died after a brief illness on July 21, 2012, at Halifax Medical Center.
Born Nov. 15, 1958, in Orlando, Fla., Gregory was the son of the late Milton and Alberta (Kinney) Chapman. In 1966, Gregory and his family returned to Central New York following his father's sudden death. Where he attended and graduated from Richfield Spring Centrals School in 1977.
In his life, Gregory was employed at Union Fork and Hoe, Tillapaugh Funeral Home, and returned to Florida (Daytona Beach) in 1997, where he worked at the Aunt Catfish Restaurant. An avid fan of planes, he dreamed of being a pilot. Gregory and his wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Gregory is survived by a son, Gregory Victor Chapman; brother, Dennis Chapman; brother, Bradford Chapman and wife JoAnn; sister, Bonita (Chapman) Van Alstine and husband Gregg; an aunt, Loretta Buell; an aunt and uncle, Richard and Mary Kinney; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Gregory was predeceased by his parents; a half brother, M. Perry Chapman; a stepfather, Benjamin Bibik; and a stepbrother, Charles (Chuck) Bibik.
Raised Methodist, Gregory's memorial service will be held at the Stone Church in Schuyler Lake, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012. The Rev. John Young will officiate.
