Cecil D. Perry
HERKIMER _ Cecil D. Perry, 96, passed away July 31, 2012, in Herkimer.
He was born May 10, 1916, in Cherry Valley, the son of Earl and Alma (Turner) Perry. He married Mable Giles in 1936, in Cherry Valley.
His occupations included a home-remodeling business, Cherry Valley Post Office, school bus driver, clothing store, laundromat, District Insurance Manager, hotel operator of Emmons Manor in Emmons (Oneonta), and the Town of Cherry Valley.
He resided in Herkimer for the past 10 years. He attended the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church where he was a member.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley (Arthur) Ritter of Manahawkin, N.J., Shiela Norton (Gilbert) Kandal of Troy, Connie (John) Dygert of Canastota, Valerie (David) Moore of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sons, Cecil "Tim" (Pamela) Perry of Herkimer, and Rodney (Barbara) Perry of Cherry Valley; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mable; two grandchildren; a brother, Donald Perry; and a sister, Thelma Kocher.
There will be a get-together for family and friends to be announced at a later date.
