ONEONTA _ Natalie M. Edwards Charlton, 87, of Oneonta, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

She was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late John and Helen (Koval) Morosky.

Natalie proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Natalie was first married to Richard H. Edwards and he predeceased her in July 1961. She later married Ralph Jay "Jiggs" Charlton and he predeceased her May 2000.

She began working at Keith Clark as the personnel manager, she then went to work at the New York State Police Barracks Troop C in Sidney as a secretary. Natalie also owned and operated the Pioneer Grill in Cooperstown for several years. She retired from Hartwick College as the secretary in the Purchasing Department.

She enjoyed spending time and relaxing at Arnold Lake.

Natalie was a member of the Milford American Legion; and the Reminiscer's Car Club with her husband, Jiggs.

Natalie is survived by her two children, Judith Edwards and Clark Edwards, both of Oneonta; former daughter-in-law, Christy Conaway Edwards of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her adopted daughter, Sande Davis Doi of Oneonta; one brother, Walter Morosky Sr. of Midlothian, Texas; two nephews, Walter Morosky Jr. and his wife, Ginger of Fort Worth, Texas, and Gary Morosky of Dallas, Texas; one niece, Linda Morosky Day of Dallas, Texas; grandpets, Phoebee, Louize, Finley, Jackson and Molly; as well as other family and friends in Connecticut.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m.

Burial will be private in the Elmwood Cemetery, Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Natalie's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
