Vicki Louise Vita

ANDES _ Vicki Louise Vita, 65, of Andes, passed away in her husband's arms on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bushwick, Queens, on June, 9, 1947, the daughter of Edward and Ivy Preuss. She married Walter M. Vita on May, 7, 1966 at the Thatch College, Huntington, Long Island.

Self-employed, Vicki resided in Long Island until moving to Andes eight years ago.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 46 years, Walter M. Vita; sons Walter (Tina) and Jason (Kathy) Vita; grandchildren Joseph, Gianna, Jason, Gabriella, Ava, Thomas, and Samantha; her mother, Ivy; two brothers, Danny and Richard; and a sister, Susie. She is also survived by her loving cat, Mille.

Calling Hours will take place, today, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:45 with Rev. Darius Mojallali, officiating, at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

Donations are asked to be made in Vicki's memory to the American Cancer Society.
