Marion Alice Dorsett
BOVINA CENTER -- Marion A. Dorsett, 80, of Bovina Center, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi.
She was born May 31, 1932, in Suffern, daughter of the late Orville and Florence (Clum) VanLoan.
Marion grew up in Cold Spring on the Hudson and graduated from Haldane High School. She married Ernest Dorsett Sr., and established Cold Spring Auto Wreckers. In 1962, they moved to Bovina and started a dairy farm, eventually opening and operating the family run Hill-Top Stables for nearly 50 years. They accomodated several generations of steady customers including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Delhi College students.
Marion was predeceased by Ernest Dorsett Sr. in 1965 and her daughter, Linda Dorsett in 2009.
Survivors include her son, Ernest Dorsett Jr.; daughter, Loretta Fink and her husband, John; grandchildren, Brian Fink and Tracy Golden; great-grandson, Dan Harper IV; sister, Rose Cable; uncle, Harry Clum; friend Carol Nichols; cousins, Harry Clum Jr. and the Zimmerman families; several nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her loyal dog, Duke.
