Margaret Catherine Young

ONEONTA-- Margaret Catherine Young, 70, of Oroville, Wash., and former resident of the Oneonta area, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Legacy Place in Twinsburg, Ohio, with her son by her side.

Margaret was born to the late Squire and Catherine Perry on Aug. 24, 1941, in Oneonta, where she spent her youth and graduated from Oneonta High School.

She later graduated from St Joseph's College of Nursing in Syracuse and spent many years as a valuable member of the health care community in both Cooperstown and Oneonta.

In 1978, Margaret married Everett Young and together they had two children and shared 13 years of marriage until his untimely death in 1991.

Later in life she was active in the Royal Neighbors of America's sunshine committee and tried to bring joy and hope to those going through difficult times in the state of Washington.

Margaret is survived by her two children, son, Michael and his family, wife, Kristy and daughter, Kinsley of Macadonia, Ohio; and daughter, AnnMargaret and her family, husband, Aaron and daughter, Annabelle of Los Angeles, Calif. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

As well as her husband, Everett, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and William and sisters, Ellen and Maryann.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 6, at St. Mary's Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Bernard Ampong officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

There will be no calling hours.
