8. Content that is harmful to children and minors in any way.
9. References to any type of sexual activity and other private matters.
10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

WE ENCOURAGE REASONABLE AND COURTEOUS COMMENTS THAT:

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.
4. Stay within the boundaries of these rules.

George W. Fletcher

STAMFORD -- George W. Fletcher, 68, Navy veteran, retired from LILCO, passed away at home on Monday, July 23, 2012, after courageously battling cancer for four years.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie J. Kremler Fletcher; two sons, George and Robert and his daughter Katelyn; his daughter, Allison Fletcher and husband, Matthew Brockway and their daughters, Madison and Cassidy, and daughter, Lisa Fletcher Coyle and her husband, Christopher Coyle and their daughters, Samantha, Savannah and Sierra. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Fletcher Gehrlein and Myrtle Fletcher All.

He was a loving husband, a terrific father and a treasured Poppy. We love you forever and will one day be together again in heaven. Until then, you will be missed terribly and be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of George's life will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 2, for family and friends at the family home in Stamford.
