Joan M. Wenck Brienza

ONEONTA _ Joan M. Wenck Brienza, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born March 13, 1932, in the Bronx, the daughter of Herbert and Lenna (Klingel) Merritt.

Joan retired from A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital where she worked as a switchboard operator, a job she really enjoyed.

She was dedicated to her family and was always ready to help in anyway she could.

She was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Brienza; and her best friend, Gwen Chandler.

Joan is survived by her four children, Lenna Hultman, Cathy Chase, Sandy Engelhardt and Herb Wenck; five grandchildren, Jolene and Billy Thompson, Harold and Grace Stilson, Kelly Engelhardt Halstead, Angie Engelhardt and Crystal Hultman; and 10 great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.
