Elsie Marie Karamichael

ONEONTA _ Elsie Marie Karamichael, 74, of Oneonta, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

She was born in Brooklyn on April 18, 1938, the daughter of Arnold and Hildegard Seidler. She married Michael Karamichael in 1965, and he passed away on Aug. 18, 1993.

Elsie has resided in Oneonta for the past five years.

She is survived by her children, Diana Crean and her husband, Bill of Laurens, Michael Karamichael Jr. of Staten Island, and Kenneth Karamichael and his fiancee, Monica McLaughlin of Somerset, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Alice Bolger of Mamaroneck, and Mary Christine Hasselman of Naples, Fla. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Ryan Crean, Dylan Crean, Robert Hasselman Jr., Shannon Bolger, Jennifer Cangianni and Lindsay Bolger; two great-grandchildren, Francesca Cangianni and Robert Hasselman III.

She was recently predeceased by a son-in-law, Gerald Bolger.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, in the Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bob Simon Fund at Bassett Cancer Institute, 1 Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
