CHERRY VALLEY -- Maureen R. Blankley, a resident of Cherry Valley since 1984 and previously of Acra in Greene County, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence following a long illness. She was 65.

Maureen was born Aug. 28, 1946, in Queens, the daughter of the late Frank and Rita (Richter) Thomas.

Maureen was a longtime area dressage riding instructor.

Survivors include her husband, to whom she was married Aug. 19, 1984, Keith Blankley; and a son, Albert Blankley of Rochester.

A memorial service will be announced later. Cremation will be at Hillington Crematory, Morris. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Valley Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 504, Cherry Valley, NY 13320 or to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Arrangements are by Lappeus Funeral Home, Sharon Springs.
