Irma Michelitsch

APEX, N.C. — Mrs. Irma Michelitsch, 81, of Apex, N.C., and formerly of Oneonta, passed away on Aug. 24, 2012, after a long   battle with cancer.

Irma was born on Oct. 1, 1930, in Gottschee, Yugoslavia. In 1950, she immigrated to Queens, and married Richard Michelitsch   in 1958. They moved to Oneonta in 1965, to start A&R Auto Repair along with Richard’s brother, Anton Michelitsch and his wife,   Mary.

Irma spent her life as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Following Richard’s death in 1992, she remained in Oneonta, and was a volunteer at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital. Irma moved   to Apex, N.C. in 2003, and was active in the Apex Newcomers and Friends Club as well as the Apex Keen-Agers.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Elmore and her husband, Larry of New Hill, N.C.; one grandson, Sean Elmore; and several   sisters, nieces, and nephews.

The family will be receiving visitors at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday,   Sept. 28, 2012. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.   Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
