Charles T. Key Sr.

Frances Ida Kristofik

PINDARS CORNERS — Frances Ida Kristofik, 87, of Pindars Corners, passed onto eternal life Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.

Charles T. Key Sr.

LYNCHBURGH, S.C. — Charles T. Key Sr., 78, of Lynchburgh, S.C., passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Hospital in Sumter, S.C.

He served in the United States Army.

He made a 52 year career of truck driving and then he retired with his wife of 35 years, Brenda Rogers Key. During this time they raised, broke and showed Belgian horses.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Stan) Merwin of Delhi; and two sons, Gordon (Carol) Key of Hobart and Scott (Lisa) Key of Inyokern, Calif.; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Doroski Key of Stamford; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Leonard Key; and a son, Charles T. Key Jr.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the Hobart United Methodist Church, followed by a reception downstairs in the church.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Robert (Bob) Frutiger Jr.

ONEONTA — Robert Carlson (Bob) Frutiger Jr., 51, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Oneonta, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, while out hiking in the mountains near his home in Colorado.

Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with a Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m.

Wahneta C. Bookhout

ONEONTA — Wahneta C. Bookhout, 86, of Oneonta, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Otsego Manor, Cooperstown.

She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Franklin Depot, the daughter of the late Lee and Ethel (Cook) Crawford.

At the age of 15, Wahneta graduated from Sidney High School, the class of 1941, as the valedictorian. After graduating, she attended Hartwick College for one year and then left to help the war effort by working at Scintilla. During the war, she also became a licensed pilot.

On March 2, 1947, Wahneta married Robert M. Bookhout at the First United Methodist Church, Oneonta. Robert predeceased her on Oct. 29, 2004.

Wahneta was an accomplished landscape painter, a world traveler, a lover of all animals, and a doting grandparent. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Oneonta.

Wahneta is survived by son, David (and Lynne) Bookhout, Chapel Hill, N.C.; son, Bruce Bookhout, Sidney Center; daughter, Allison Jay Bookhout (and Bruce Von Holtz), Sidney Center; daughters-in-law, Susan Bookhout, Norwalk, Conn., Patricia Bookhout, Oneonta, and Debra Bookhout, Freeville; grandchildren, Robert (and Megan) Bookhout of Seal Beach, Calif., Catherine Bookhout Middlebrooks (and Paul) of Nashville, Tenn., David Bookhout of Miami, Fla., Dr. Christine Bookhout of Chapel Hill, N.C., Megan Bookhout of Newark, Del., Rachel Bookhout , Boston, Mass., and Rebecca Bookhout and her fiancé, Mark Theophel of Worcester, Mass. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Hudson and Sheldon Bookhout, Seal Beach, Calif.; also her sister, Phyllis Crawford Schmidt of Saunderstown, R.I.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins (including one special cousin, Lenore Modon); and friends.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert D. Bookhout; and two brothers, Wesley Butts and Walter “Jack” Crawford.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Teressa M. Sivers, pastor, and the Rev. Emily Huyge, associate pastor, both of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center.

Memorial donations in Wahneta’s name may be made to either the Delaware Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 182, Sidney, NY 13838, or to the First United Methodist Church, 66 Chestnut St., Oneonta, NY 13820.

The family wishes to express much gratitude to the staff of the Plains at Parish Homestead, 2 North unit of A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, and the staff of Butternut Creek neighborhood at Otsego Manor for all their kindnesses to our mother.

Michael F. Coyle

ONEONTA — Michael F. Coyle, 60, of Oneonta, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Bernard Ampong, associate pastor, officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, at which time the family will be in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 396 Chestnut St., Oneonta, NY 13820.
