WORCESTER _ Charles Paul Green, 53, died in his sleep on Aug. 19, 2012.

He was born May 5, 1959, in Monroe, Mich., the son of James and Noreen (Fortman) Green.

Chuck attended Mason Senior High School and was a member of St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe, Mich.. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lake Superior State College, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology.

He enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1981. He attended Officers Candidate School, commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant March of 1982. He served in West Germany, with the 52nd Infantry of the 1st Armored Division. He was proud to be an Airborne Ranger. He was honorably discharged as a Captain after six years of service.

Chuck lived in Columbus, Ga., until 2006, returning to Michigan, then in 2009, moved to Worcester. While living in Worcester, he was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a third degree Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are two brothers, Gary James Green of Madison Heights, Mich., and Ronald Lee Green of Worcester; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a younger brother, Michael Thomas Green.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Worcester, with his brother, the Rev. Ronald L. Green, MM, as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
