11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.

COOPERSTOWN _ Anita Anderson, 83, a wonderful aunt, great-aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in Cooperstown.

She was born in Edgewater, N.J., on May 1, 1928, and resided in Edgewater, Westwood and Harrington Park, N.J., before moving to upstate New York to be closer to her niece and nephew.

Anita retired from Columbia University in 1989, where she worked for many years in various capacities in the Eye Institute having participated in numerous research programs over the years. Anita was a world traveler and traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, Asia, Canada and the U.S. Anita also spent time as a Christian Missionary working with a Navajo Tribe in Arizona.

She thoroughly enjoyed visiting and sharing life experiences with her niece and nephew and their children, as well as cousins and friends around the world.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the many wonderful home care, nursing home and Hospice caregivers who not only provided Anita exceptional care, but became her close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta NY 13820.

A service of remembrance will be held at the family's convenience in New Jersey.
