ONEONTA — Maude C. Vartuli, 90, died Nov. 20, 2012, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta.
She was born March 14, 1922, in Mooers, the daughter of Gladys and Casper Clark.
Maude married Patrick T. Vartuli on June 24, 1942. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 1996, and her son, Patrick Jr., predeceased her in 1998.
Maude is survived by her daughter-in-law, Darlene Vartuli; a daughter, Janice Vartuli; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Vartuli; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue Vartuli and Joseph Wolff; six grandchildren, Catherine Vartuli, Pamela (Robert) Watson, Kara (Shane) Pitkin, Thomas (Sally) Vartuli, James (Ann) Vartuli and Melissa (Scott) Rosen; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Alexander, Emma, Bobby, and Monica Watson, William Vartuli, Chase and Addison Rosen; and a sister, Claire Supernaw.
Her sister, Ella; and brothers, Russell and Calvin predeceased her.
Maude was a loving and compassionate women, wife, and mother. She taught Home Economics from 1947 to 1977, at the Union-Endicott High School. She especially enjoyed sewing. During her retirement years, she and her husband traveled and played golf.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the A.O. Fox Nursing Home for caring for Maude; also a special thank you to Lynn Tuttle for her love and care.
Per Maude’s request, there will be no calling hours or service. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
