MOUNT VISION _ Vivian M. Harrison, 91, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.

She was born at home in Mount Vision on June 1, 1921, the daughter of David E. and Clella (Sherman) Marble. On July 1, 1940, Vivian married Ford H. Harrison. They shared 55 years together until his death in September 1995.

Vivian graduated from Laurens Central School and later worked in food service there for 22 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Mount Vision United Methodist Church throughout her life where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher as well as president of the Women's Society for many years. She greatly enjoyed the Young At Heart group they formed for Seniors.

Vivian was a member of the Otego Valley Grange for 69 years and was the secretary for 32 years. She had also served as chairman of Mount Vision Home Bureau and as president of Otego Valley Senior Citizen group.

Known for her quick wit and wry sense of humor, she especially enjoyed creating delicious baked treats and sharing them with everyone.

She is survived by her children, Edith (Steven), Shirley (Art), Bruce (Susan), and Louise; grandchildren, Mark (Christine), Crystal (Matthew), Brian (Amber), Nicole (Vincent), Daniel (Amanda), Eric (Erica); stepgrandchildren, Caitlin and Allison; great-grandsons, Aiden, John Ross, and Anthony; a brother-in-law, Glenn Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Vivian was predeceased by a brother, Sherman Marble; and her sister, Thelma Marble.

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. Officiating will be Pastor Jane Bensley of the Mount Vision United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Mount Vision Cemetery.
