HARTWICK — Erwina “Winnie” (Manley) Edgett entered into eternal rest on Dec. 10, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born August 25, 1924, Winnie was raised in Hartwick and spent her adult life managing a small farm on Weeks Road. She was the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Richards) Manley. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Francis Ira Edgett who predeceased her in 1966.
Winnie was a devoted sister, surrogate mother and aunt, and Winnie loved her farm animals and pets! In her passing she leaves behind a little dog, Samantha, and cat, Tabatha.
Winnie is predeceased by a brother, Richard Manley, a surrogate daughter and niece, Alana Manley, a niece Carol (Manley) Stickles, and a niece Joan (Manley) Crippen. She is survived by one brother, Lloyd Manley and his wife Katherine (Fitch) of Cooperstown and their daughters, Sandra Manley of Cooperstown, Anna Buell of Pittsfield and Marilyn Tero of Mohawk, a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Roberts) Manley of Hartwick, a close caring niece, Elizabeth White of Oneonta, and a nephew Richard Manley Jr. of Hartwick.
A memorial service will be held at the Christian Church, Hartwick, on December 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Laverne Saxer presiding.
Interment will be at the Hartwick Cemetery and at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Winnie’s memory can be made to the Christian Church of Hartwick.
