CORTLAND _ Gertrude Lillian Davis, 92, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, surrounded by family at Cortland Park and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 25, 1919, in Westkill, to Pearl Du Bois Hyatt and Watson Hyatt.

Gertrude married Donald T. Davis on Dec. 26, 1936, and was predeceased by her husband of 69 years on Feb. 17, 2006. She was also predeceased by her three sisters and brother.

Gertrude and Don moved to Cortland in 1956, and was a secretary for A.B. Gallagher Inc., from whom she retired. She was a member of the Cortland Free Methodist Church, and a former resident of Friendship House, 13 Leon Ave.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Suestia (Richard) Peters of Schenectady; son, Allyn (Joan) Davis of Cortland; grandchildren, Stephanie Mattice of Cortland, Donald T. (Jennifer) Davis II of Dryden, Deana (Steve) Madigan of Dryden and Stacy, Shellie and Donald C. Mattice; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon and Brooke Madigan of Dryden, Aidan and Liam Davis of Dryden; sisters-in-law, Gladys Carman, Helen Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., with a service to follow the calling hour.
