8. Content that is harmful to children and minors in any way.
9. References to any type of sexual activity and other private matters.
10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.

George R. Brown

Wytheville, Va. — George R. Brown, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 23, 2012. He was born June 30, 1938, in Virgil, N.Y., to Raymond and Laura (Morgan) Brown.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Frances Gascon; his children and their families: Julie and Peter Tietjen of Harpursville; Raymond and Rebecca Brown of Greenfield Center; and granddaughter, Jessica Brown. He is also survived by his sister, Pearl Fritts of Smithville Flats; nephews, Paul and William Thompson (Phae), Stuart (Donna) and Burton Fritts; and nieces, Patricia Thompson Horowitz (Jeffrey) and LuAnn Fritts Kirk (Dan); several great-nephews; and the mother of his children, Gloria Brown. George was predeceased by his parents, his brothers-in-law, Harry Fritts and Charles Thompson, and his sister, Evelyn Thompson.

Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
