Elmer G. Johnson
OTEGO — Elmer George Johnson, 57, of Otego, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.
Born Dec. 30, 1954, in Oneonta, every year on his birthday, all he would ask for was another trip around the sun. Unfortunately, this trip ended too early.
Elmer is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 37 years, Anne; five children, Levi (Shelley), Megan, Isaac (Jessie), Jesse (Eric) and Isaiah; his sisters, Sharon, Debbie, Mary-Ann, Linda (John) Kathy, Betty (Jim) and Amy; many nieces, nephews, family; and dear friends.
Elmer was predeceased by his mother, Beverly Scutt.
A lifelong dairy farmer, Elmer loved caring for his cows. Most recently he was milking cows with his new farm family, Don and Janice Smith of Franklin.
As “E” would say, “Alter your mind, not your body.”
A celebration of Elmer’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Johnson home, 64 Otsdawa Avenue, Otego.
The Westcott Funeral Home Inc. of Unadilla assisted the family.
