RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Dorothy Anne Imholz, 94, of the Regency at Glen Cove, in Glen Cove, Long Island passed away peacefully on Friday morning Oct. 12, 2012 in North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side in her final days.

She was born on July 26, 1918 in Manhattan, daughter of the late Arthur G. and Kathleen Hallinan Quinn. Dorothy was raised in both Richfield Springs and New York City. She was a graduate of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic High School in the Bronx. She furthered her education at Barnard College and Columbia University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

In 1942 she was united in marriage with John Arthur Imholz. They shared a blessed and devoted union of forty-two years until his passing in December of 1984. Mrs. Imholz had a strong belief in God and was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield Center and more recently Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Richfield Springs.

In her leisure time she found joy in studying about and collecting art pottery and listening to her favorite music. To all who knew her she will always be remembered as a warm and caring lady who put her home and family before all else. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her three cherished grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving her are two daughters, Betsy Imholz of Woodacre, CA, Kathy Imholz of Tirana, Albania, her three grandchildren Jenny Harkins of Richfield Springs, Bill Harkins and his wife Antoinette of Astoria, Queens, Owen Clapp of Woodacre, CA, a niece, Andrea Quinn and nephew Arthur Quinn. Besides her parents and husband John Arthur she was preceded in death by a brother Jack Quinn.

Calling hours for Mrs. Imholz will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Thursday in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. Funeral from the funeral home will be at 10:30 am on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Matthew Wetsel, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Richfield Springs.

Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Otsego County Conservation Association, PO Box 931, Cooperstown, NY 13326. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
