James D. Nash
ANDES — James D. “Jim” Nash, 85, of Fall Clove, Andes, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Capstone Nursing Center, Amsterdam.
Born May 16, 1927, in Brooklyn, the son of Robert and Julia (Cox) Nash, he was WW II U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific.
A 25-year NY City Port Authority employee, retiring in 1982; formerly of West Islip, he moved to Andes in 1985; was an avid horse racing fan, enjoying fishing and the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Sophia (McCauley) Nash.
Predeceased were his son, James T. “Chip” Nash (1990); a sister and two brothers.
Visitation: Noon, Monday, April 1, followed by services, 1 p.m. at Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi; the Rev. Bert More, officiating. Military honors and burial following, Andes Cemetery.
