SUMTER, S.C. — Frank Roger Conte, Jr., 73, husband of Gloria Atkinson Conte, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Oneonta, he was a son of the late Frank Conte Sr., and the late Lavinia Ruby Pierotti. Mr. Conte was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of Sumter; one daughter, Lori Conte Ross (Jeff) of Dalzell; one son, Michael Allen Conte (Maggie) of Dalzell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Conte of NY, and Jeff Conte of TX; and a special aunt, Antionette Colwell of NY.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Crosby.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery with military honors.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
