Darleen Francis (Stoiber) Jarvis

COOPERSTOWN _ Darleen Francis (Stoiber) Jarvis of Cooperstown passed away at home with her family by her side early on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Hugh Jarvis Jr.; and her children, Michael Richard Wilson of Acworth, Ga., Tracy Lyn Wilson of Sandy Springs, Ga., Patricia Elizabeth Jarvis of Boca Raton, Fla., and Heather Kathleen Carr (Jarvis) of Middlefield; her father, Frederick Anthony Stoiber of Winter Haven, Fla.; and her sisters, Diana Marie Anderson (Stoiber) of Brandon, Fla., and Julia Elizabeth Thompson (Stoiber) of Winter Haven, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Alexander Jarvis of Aberdeen, N.C.; and her mother, Elizabeth Helena Stoiber (Cooper) of Winter Haven, Fla.

Darleen spent much of her life in Cooperstown, where she worked as a bed management coordinator for Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital.

She touched many lives and it was often commented that she was a good person with a great personality who made those at the hospital feel welcome. Darleen was well-known for her sense of humor and her homemade cheesecakes which she liked to bake and share with friends and family.

Darleen also traveled all over the world and had many great adventures with her husband, Hugh. Later in life, Darleen discovered a love and talent for faceting raw gemstones into beautiful jewels which she has on display locally at Riverwood.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or viewing, instead the family will hold a celebration of her life in the spring which was her favorite time of year.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Catskill Area Hospice in her name located at 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
