Dorothy Elizabeth (Eckstrom) Eggler
NORTH FRANKLIN _ Dorothy Elizabeth (Eckstrom) Eggler, 76, North Franklin, registered nurse, educator and manager, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, after a brief illness.
Born in the Bronx on Oct. 27, 1935, Dorothy was the daughter of Roy and Anna (Durdack) Eckstrom. She married Floyd Eggler on Feb. 16, 1957.
Dorothy received her nursing degree from Brooklyn Lutheran and served as a registered nurse for many decades in Oneonta, Delhi, and New York City. She received her master's degree from SUNY Oneonta and was an educator and administrator at A.O. Fox Nursing Home until her retirement.
A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Marianne Eggler of New York City; and sons, Robert Eggler of North Franklin and William Eggler of Albany; her brother, John Eckstrom of Sydney, Australia; and her three grandchildren, Bennett and Madelyn Eggler of Oneonta and Maximilian Gerozissis of New York City.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Eggler; and her sisters, Barbara Eckstrom and Roberta Wheeler.
Burial will take place in the spring in Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy Eggler's name to the American Cancer Society or to Cooperstown SSPCA.
