Harry S. 'Sonny' Triebe Sr.

DOWNSVILLE _ Harry S. "Sonny" Triebe Sr., of Downsville, the owner of Sonny & Sons Stone Co., LLC of Downsville, and a longtime area resident, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the Wilson Hospital, Johnson City. He was 64.

The son of the late Ellsworth and Angeline Scavera Triebe, he was born July 26, 1947, in Suffern.

Sonny served our country in the U.S. Army, he was a member and past commander of the James S. Moore American Legion Post No. 167; a member of the O & Y Hunting Club; a former member of the Downsville Fire Company; a member of the NYS and PA Bluestone Associations; Chairman of the National Bluestone Association; a member of the B.S.I., N.S.C. and A.S.I. Associations; a member of the Colchester, Delaware County and National Chambers of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Homovich Triebe, at home; one daughter, Theresa Burnham and her husband, Stephen of Downsville; two sons, Harry Triebe Jr. and Alex Triebe, both of Downsville; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Nathaniel; one sister, JoAnne Triebe Snyder of Middletown; two nieces and one nephew.

He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Triebe Keller.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Roscoe.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Cicio will officiate. Burial will be in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the James S. Moore American Legion Post No. 167, P.O. Box 104, Downsville, NY 13755.
