COLLIERSVILLE _ Calvin H. Bissell, 80, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

He was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Concord, Vt., the son of George and Blanche (Mason) Bissell.

Calvin was a United States Army veteran serving from 1950 to 1952, and continued serving with the National Guard.

He married Elaine Ruth Bean on Aug. 29, 1952. He and wife were the owners of the Little Super in Colliersville for 35 years.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Elaine R. Bissell; four children, Edward A. and wife Hollie Bissell, Brian L. Bissell and companion Maryann Timer, Michael K. and wife Lorraine Bissell, and Cynthia P. Bissell and companion Russ Smith; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta. A graveside service with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Maryland Cemetery.
