Roy William Palmer
EAST MEREDITH _ Roy William Palmer, 78, of East Meredith, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012.
Roy was born on Dec. 11, 1933, in Oneonta, the son of Merle W. and Jewell (Jordan) Palmer. He married Elizabeth Kroes on Oct. 8, 1955.
Roy lived in Meridale most of his life and was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed woodworking. He was an active member of the Delhi Community Church for over 50 years.
Roy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four children, Ronald W. and Landa V. Palmer, Rachel E. and Thomas J. Luerssen, Richard J. and Abby J. Palmer, and Ruthanna J. and Steve F. Wilson; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecile E. and Beverly Palmer, twin brother, Ronald L. Palmer, and Mahlon R. Palmer and Barbara Pitt; sister-in-law, Yeska and Donald Dibble; brother-in-law, Johannes Kroes; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at noon Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the Delhi Community Church, Delhi, with the Rev. Derek Johnson officiating. The family will greet people prior to the service at the church, beginning at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale, at the convenience of the family.
