Regina M. Ashman

MARGARETVILLE _ Regina 'Gina' Marie Ashman, 59 years of age, beloved wife of Larry A. Ashman, Margaretville, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, after bravely battling an illness.

Regina was born on Feb. 22, 1953, in Waltham, Mass., to Alfred Francis Brown and Claudia Gertrude Brosnihan Brown (both deceased).

Regina graduated from Nashoba Regional High School, and shortly after married the boy she had loved since they were 10 years old, Larry, on Oct. 30, 1971, in Stow, Mass. They made their home in Massachusetts until 2000, when they moved to Margaretville, to be near their grandbabies and enjoy the mountains.

She was a very active member of Catskill Mountain Christian Center, belonged to the Margaretville Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and was employed by CVS Pharmacy and Mountainside Residential Care Center.

Her interests were the Bible, praying for anyone and everyone who asked, serving her local church and lovingly caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved Jesus, playing cards with her mother-in-law and visiting the ocean.

Regina is survived by her husband, Larry; their two daughters and spouses, Jessica and Paul Moore and Kathryn and Jason Coffin; and six grandchildren, Alexander, Luke, Will and Carley Moore and Jason Jr. and Victoria Coffin. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Featherston of Dracut, Mass.; her sister, Donna and Chet Jacobs of Stow, Mass.; and her mother-in-law, Claire Ashman of Hudson, Mass. Regina also leaves behind 22 sisters and brothers-in-law; 29 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless friends _ all of whom she loved well.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Hynes Funeral Home, 48 Walnut St., Margaretville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Catskill Mountain Christian Center located at 629 Main St., Margaretville, officiated by her Pastor, Robert Engelhardt.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Regina's name to the Family Table Community Assistance Program, P.O. Box 26, Margaretville, NY 12455.
