ONEONTA -- Edith Louise Butler, 90, of Oneonta, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late George F. and Mary (Crim) Yule.

Louise married Zell Butler on Nov. 30, 1940, in the Richfield Springs Episcopal Church. Zell predeceased her on Oct. 16, 1963.

Louise was the head x-ray technician at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, for 30 years until her retirement.

She loved to travel. She went on several cruises and many vacations. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a caregiver to all of her family members, caring for them at the time of their illness and until their passing. Most of all, Louise loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, "Perky."

She was a member of the Oneonta Ladies Auxiliary and the Warren Historical Society.

Louise is survived by her three children, Zell "Allen" and Sue Butler of Oneonta, Sylvia and Jim Vaughn of Jacksonville, Fla., and Shirley Seyboth of Voorheesville; 10 grandchildren, Troy, Tracy, Jessica, Kristopher, Melanie, Sarah, Jackie, Vicki, Billy and Brett; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, George Yule Butler in 2010 and siblings, Ethel, Edna, Esther, Robert, Curtis and Donald.

Graveside services will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, in the Highland Rural Cemetery, Jordanville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louise's name may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
