Joseph Richard Wyble Sr.
SOUTH KORTRIGHT -- Joseph Richard Wyble Sr., 78, of South Kortright, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Wanaque, N.J. on Nov. 29, 1933, the son of William and Mary Wyble. Joseph graduated from Butler High School in 1952. Joseph was married to Constance Anna Cole at the Dutch Reform Church in Wanaque, N.J. in 1956.
Joseph and Constance moved from Haskell, N.J. to a farm located in South Kortright in 1962.
In his earlier years, Joseph worked as a stone mason, farmer, and sawmill worker at Catskill Craftsmen. Many of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, gardening, going to the auctions and his dogs. In the last few years he spent many hours at his pond fishing with his dogs by his side. If he was not fishing, he could be found in his garden. Many knew that he was very proud of the harvest he received from his garden.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Constance of 56 years; a daughter, Mary Anna (Wayne) Bruns of Davenport Center; sons, William (Josephine) Wyble of Stamford, Joseph Jr.(Lucy) Wyble of Stamford, Walter Wyble of South Kortright, Robert (Cathy) Wyble of Davenport, Richard (Jill) Wyble of Jefferson; grandchildren, Marylou, Tammy, Jamie, April, Cheyenne, Lacy, John (Christian), Jacqueline, Merrissa, Joseph III, William Travis, Faith, Heather, CJ, Robert, Heather, Glenn and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Carina, Jakobe, Abigail, Sadie and Taylor. Joseph is also survived by his two sisters, Mary (Gill) of Georgia, Kathy of Grand Gorge, two brothers, John (Kathleen) of Alabama; George (Margret) of Grand Gorge. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joseph was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ann; daughter, Lois Alta; grandsons, Richard Jr. and William; and brother-in-laws, Robert Cole and Ellis Guile and his niece, Debbie Wyble.
To celebrate Joseph's life a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 24, at the Hobart Fire House. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.macarthurfh.com.
