Diana Lynn (Warner) Barnes
STAMFORD _ Diana Lynn (Warner) Barnes died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with ALS.
Born July 24, 1954, at Kingston General Hospital, Diana was the daughter of Theresa (Sidorowicz) Ballard of Margaretville and the late William Warner of Kingston. She married Michael Barnes of Stamford at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford on Dec. 27, 1975.
A graduate of Roxbury Central School, Diana earned her nursing degree from SUNY Delhi in 1974. She worked as an LPN for 35 years throughout the state of Florida, in Erie, Pa., and most recently at the O'Connor Hospital Specialty Clinic in Delhi.
She is survived by her mother, husband and their three children, Drs. Ryan and Mandy (Caparso) Barnes of Columbus, Ohio, Michael and Beth (Kupferberg) Barnes of Boston, Mass., and Sara Barnes of Stamford. She is also survived by her brother, John Warner of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Cheryl Tagner of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her in-laws, Patricia and Wayne Barnes of Stamford; brothers-in-law, Vern (Janette) Barnes and William (Lisa) Barnes of Stamford and James (Yvette) Barnes of Gulf Breeze, Fla,; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the many people who assisted in the loving care of Diana in her home.
Calling hours only will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, P.O. Box 88, Delhi, NY.
