Gladys N. Christman
JOHNSTOWN _ Gladys N. Christman, 95, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford.
Born May 21, 1917, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late John Northover and Maggie Gray Northover.
She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Albany Business College.
Gladys was employed as a private secretary for Judge Carrol S. Walsh until her retirement in 1981.
Mrs. Christman was a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church, she also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Loyal Philathia at church.
She was also a volunteer at the Willing Helpers Home for Women in Johnstown.
On Feb. 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harold M. "Lefty" Christman and he passed away on Oct. 7, 1975.
Survivors include her two children, Richard (Maxine) Christman of Delanson and Patricia (David) Zambri of Grand Gorge; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents; and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, John Northover.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 East Main St., Johnstown. Friends and family may call prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
