Jean A. Frisbee
NEW HARTFORD _ Jean A. Frisbee, 81, formerly of Oneonta and most recently of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Charles T. Sitrin Healthcare Center, New Hartford.
Jean was born on Aug. 8, 1930, in Bloomville, the daughter of James and Phoebe (Every) Shelley. On Jan. 6, 1950, she was married to Hugh M. Frisbee in Kortright Center. He predeceased her on Dec. 28, 1990.
She was a huge NASCAR fan, always looking forward to the start of the season so she could cheer on her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jean loved watching Western movies, especially anything that featured John Wayne. She also enjoyed listening to country music and her favorite singers, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
She was a long-time member of the Oneonta Moose Club during her time in Oneonta.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Ionetta Jane Frisbee of Utica; her son, Walter Duane Frisbee of Oregon; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh, and her sister, Alma Barrett.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, with the Rev. Olu Harding, officiating. Interment will follow at the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
