Frances 'Panny' Gorham Hill

LAKELAND, Fla. _ Mrs. Frances "Panny" Gorham Hill, 103, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at her home due to natural causes.

She was born June 25, 1908, to James Jr. and Lulu (Tarpening) Byard.

Mrs. Hill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), County Mental Health Board, chairman of the Wellsville Garden Club and a retired physical education teacher at Oneonta High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey D. Hill; and her six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US Highway 98 North, Lakeland, Fla. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, Fla. 33801.
