10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.

SIDNEY _ Jean Booth, 88, of Sidney, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney.

She was born Nov. 27, 1923, daughter of the late William and Rachel (Haynes) Topping in Sidney.

Jean married Kenneth N. Booth on April 8, 1951, in Sidney. He predeceased her on May 5, 2005.

For several years Jean worked in the Sidney School cafeteria. She was also a life member of the Sidney United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her devoted son, Robert Booth of Sidney; niece, Lori; nephews, Michael, Stephen and James; special friends, David and Bonnie Scanlon, Francis and Carol Hubbard; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Booth, Ruth Booth.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Susan Heafield, pastor of the Sidney United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St., Sidney or the Sidney Emergency Squad River St., Sidney, NY 13838.

Condolences may be sent to the family online to www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.
